Job Title Regional Controller

Description This position will be the Region’s lead accounting, finance and administration role with the primary responsibility of managing the day-to-day accounting, financial and administrative activities of the Region. The individual must have a minimum of eight to ten years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction field. The individual will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. The successful candidate will have significant interaction with the Regional Ops Team and Corporate Accounting Team as well as with other members of management. Hiring and developing professionals within the Region to execute the responsibilities of the accounting and finance group is also a responsibility of the Regional Controller. Responsibilities: • Manage and supervise accounting staff to provide an efficient team to perform assigned tasks. • The Regional Controller will be knowledgeable about all aspects of Project Accounting and each job assigned to the team and be responsible for supervision of the following: o Prepare the monthly requisition to the owner, o Process budget updates, o Select invoices to be included in the weekly disbursement cycle, o Monitor and track the cash position of the project, o Process subcontractor requisitions and, o Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, billing procedures, etc.). o The person will work closely with the Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration. • Manage Regional cash collection activity as well as prepare cash forecasts. • Prepare annual G&A budgets and monitor the financial operations to insure compliance with budgets. • Assist the General Manager in the monthly preparation of the Rolling 8-Quarter P&L forecast. • Act as a liaison between the Corporate Risk Manager and the Regional Accounting Team. Assist the Corporate Risk Manager with the implementation of a Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) and Contractor Default Insurance (Sub Guard). • Management of all accounting and finance activity Federal Government SBU. • Responsible for Real Estate and Office Management of the Regional office. • Function as the financial management link between the region and home office accounting. • Participate in region management, client and project meetings as required. Qualifications: • Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles. • Must be able to manage a team in an efficient and effective manner. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Advanced degree a plus. • Extensive knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures. • Experience in the construction industry preferred. • Projects over 80MM • Experience with Federal Government accounting rules and regulations (FARs). • CPA certification a plus. • Outstanding team player and with good interpersonal skills. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
